Competition for the conceptual architectural design of the "Oktoih" primary school pavilion in Podgorica.

Deadline:

The Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism, and State Property has announced a national competition for the Conceptual Architectural Design of the "Oktoih" Elementary School Pavilion in Podgorica.

The competition aims to select the best conceptual architectural design for the construction of a new school facility - the "Oktoih" Elementary School Pavilion on UP13, with the arrangement of the existing schoolyard on UP12 in Podgorica. This is planned within the scope of the Detailed Urban Plan "Residential Community VII - Old Town - Amendments and Supplements" (Official Gazette of Montenegro – municipal regulations no. 51/16).

The competition entries are expected to, by considering the existing urban values of both the narrower and wider location, spatial-urban and architectural-constructional characteristics, enhance the visual identity of the block and provide an optimally functional solution for the planned program content.

Competition Deadlines:

The competition is open from Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

The deadline for submitting works is Wednesday, May 15, 2024, until 14:00h.

The competition results will be announced by Wednesday, June 5, 2024.

After the jury makes its decision and compiles the jury report, the competition organizer will publish the results on the official competition website: www.architecturalcompetitions.me.

  • Prof. Dr. Svetlana Perović, architect, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, University of Montenegro – jury president;
  • Duška Mačić, B.Sc. in Architecture, Chief City Architect of the Capital City of Podgorica – expert member;
  • Vesna Krivokapić, B.Sc. in Civil Engineering – representative of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation – expert member;
  • Ivana Dobrković, B.Sc. in Architecture, Vice President of the Chamber of Architects of Montenegro – expert member.
  • Siniša Minić, Acting Director General of the Directorate for the Implementation of State Guidelines in the Field of Architecture (Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism, and State Property), representative of the organizer - member.

Prize Fund:

1st Prize - €10,000.00

2nd Prize - €4,500.00

3rd Prize - €3,000.00

Purchase - €1,500.00

Eligibility:

Participants in the competition must have residence or headquarters in Montenegro, with at least one of the authors of the competition entry (individual or team leader) being a licensed architect. The author or team leader may engage experts from other professions to enhance the competition solution (preferably, a team member should be a graduate landscape architect).

Registration:

Registration is not required; participation in the competition is free.

All participants can ask questions regarding the competition until Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Subsequently, all received questions and answers will be published on the website www.arhitecturalcompetitions.me by Friday, March 29, 2024.
