The Municipality of Budva has announced a national competition for a conceptual architectural design of a public preschool facility – a kindergarten in Petrovac, Municipality of Budva.

The subject of the competition is the development of a conceptual architectural design for a public preschool facility – a kindergarten in Petrovac, Municipality of Budva, at location UP 22 in Block 11 within the Detailed Urban Plan (DUP) “Petrovac - šira zona”.

The competition for the construction of a new kindergarten is being launched due to insufficient capacity of existing preschool institutions and the deterioration of the current facility, which can no longer meet the needs of the community. The aim of the project is to provide a modern space for children’s stay and education, along with landscaping of the surroundings, creation of additional parking spaces, and high-quality play areas.

The goal of the competition for the conceptual architectural design of the public preschool facility (kindergarten) in Petrovac is to obtain a high-quality, innovative, and sustainable solution.
The design should enable a high-quality and appropriate connection between the building and its surroundings. All required spaces and equipment must be dimensioned in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.

Competition Deadlines:

The competition opens on Monday, December 29, 2025.

The submission deadline is Friday, March 20, 2026, by 23:59 (UTC+1 – local time in Montenegro).

The competition results will be published by Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

After the jury decision is made and the Jury Report is prepared, the competition organizer will publish the results on the official competition website: www.budva.me

Eligibility:

The right to participate in the competition is open to all natural and legal persons who meet the conditions defined in the Competition Announcement and the Competition Brief.
Participants may be individuals or entities with residence or registered office in Montenegro, provided that at least one of the authors of the competition entry (individual or team leader) is a responsible professional in the field of architecture (licensed architect). The author or team leader may engage experts from other professions to improve the competition proposal.
