The Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property has announced an International Competition for the Conceptual Architectural Design of the Second High School building in Podgorica. The subject of the competition is the creation of a conceptual architectural design for the Second High School building and represents a key development project aimed at enhancing secondary education in the Capital City. The competition area is located within the University Center, on the site consisting of cadastral parcels no. 1349/1, 1349/3, 1372/61 KO Podgorica I, covered by the Spatial-Urban Plan of the Capital City of Podgorica (“Official Gazette of Montenegro – municipal regulations”, no. 06/14). The total area covered by the competition is 10,638 m².
The aim of the competition is to obtain a functional, progressive, and recognizable conceptual architectural design that will serve as the basis for the preparation of technical documentation necessary for the project’s implementation. The design should ensure a high-quality and adequate connection of all functional units, while spaces and equipment should be dimensioned in accordance with current norms and standards.

Jury decision:
The jury carefully analyzed the proposed urban planning and architectural concept, innovation in architectural expression, site design, and other key aspects relevant to the competition brief. The jury also considered sustainability and aesthetic contribution. After thorough evaluation, seven entries were found to possess qualities meriting awards and honorable mentions. The jury unanimously decided to award the First, Second, and Third Prizes, and to grant four equally valued honorable mentions.
The jury expresses sincere appreciation to all participants for their impressive response to the international competition for the Conceptual Architectural Design of the Second High School Building in Podgorica.
