The Municipality of Plav has announced a National Competition for the conceptual urban and architectural design of the promenade and contact zones surrounding Plav Lake.
The aim of the competition is to ensure, through the implementation of an urban and architectural competition as the most relevant instrument for promoting architectural excellence, the selection of the optimal architectural solution that best meets the criteria of functionality, cost-efficiency, rationality, feasibility, and sustainability.
The selected solution will serve as the basis for further development through the preparation of project and technical documentation in the following implementation phases. In this regard, the competition entry should be developed at the level of a conceptual design and contain all relevant elements of technical documentation necessary for the smooth continuation of further procedures.
Competition Deadlines
The competition is open from Monday, May 18, 2026.
The deadline for submission of entries is 13:00 (local time in Montenegro), Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

The competition results will be announced no later than Friday, October 16, 2026.
Following the jury’s decision and submission of the final report, the Competition Organizer will officially publish the results on the Municipality’s website:

Eligibility
The competition is open to all legal entities and individuals who meet the conditions defined by the Competition Announcement and Competition Brief.
Eligible participants are individuals and entities with residence or registered headquarters in Montenegro, provided that at least one of the authors of the competition entry (individual participant or team leader) is a licensed professional in the field of architecture. The author or team leader may engage experts from other professions in order to improve the competition proposal.
The following persons are not eligible to participate in the competition:
- Persons directly involved in the preparation and implementation of the competition,
- Their immediate family members,
- Persons employed by the Competition Organizer,
- Persons whose employment with the Organizer ended within two years prior to the competition announcement,
- Persons who are immediate family members of and/or employed by jury members.
Each participant, whether an individual or a group, has the right to participate in this competition with only one entry. One competition entry may contain only one solution; alternative solutions are not permitted.
